Behind the Brand

The story of Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey isn't a traditional one: far from the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, Skrewball was born in a small beach town in Southern California. Skrewball is not steeped in tradition, but instead is a new take on your favorite classics. And while some may snub their nose at this, Skrewball stands proud as the black sheep—and welcomes you to grab a glass and celebrate your own inner black sheep!

As a true modern day classic, peanut butter whiskey has humble beginnings and was hoisted into the spotlight on reality TV. Co-Founder, Steve Yeng, created a peanut butter whiskey shot for his bar in Ocean Beach, California based on his love of peanut butter whiskey (and, c’mon who doesn’t share his passion?). Later, it became the featured shot on a reality TV show that is often called the “Wife Swap” of bars. The shot blew the competition out of the water and led him to win the competition and $10,000—all of which was donated to the community. The popularity of the shot grew from there, and it became the signature shot for his bar.

He joined forces with his wife, who has a chemistry background, and, together, they created Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey. The task was literally as impossible as mixing oil and water—but, after years of development, they succeeded in creating a drink that is a category in and of itself. It’s a smooth, well-balanced flavor that is loved by whiskey-drinkers and non-whiskey drinkers alike. Like peanut butter itself, it combines sweet and savory into a universally beloved flavor. Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey looks like whiskey, pours like whiskey, and has a respectable 35% ABV, but with just one whiff you can tell it’s going to taste a heck of a lot better.

How to Drink Skrewball

You do not need to acquire a taste or take a class to figure out what the heck “peaty” or “malty” means to enjoy this whiskey. Skrewball created a whiskey for everyone—even you vodka and tequila drinkers. It's delicious all by itself. Neat, on the rocks, or as a shot. Our favorite way to drink it—especially for you tequila drinkers—is with a salted rim. Or try it as a highball with club soda.
