Balcones Texas Rye Cask Strength Single Barrel - “Funky Town” - Bourbon Pursuit Private Barrel Pick 750 ml

Selected blind by Kenny, Ryan, and Tony on August 24th-2020 from a group of 6 whiskeys.  When sampled, it had aged 29 months in a 59 gallon barrel made form Hungarian oak.  It had a barrel entry proof of 124, had risen to 127, and was the only Rye in the selection.  This was sample #6 and really took the team by surprise.  FUNKY TOWN USA is what they ended up calling it.

Notes of fresh cotton, smokiness, cacao, black tea, chocolate bitters, and an Old Fashioned all mixed together.  "It's unlike anything I've tasted before, and it's something you're going to want to share".  "It's the most interesting thing I've ever tasted".
