OVERVIEW:

On May 6th, 2021 Kenny, Ryan, Clayton & Scott got together for a virtual barrel Selection of Sagamore Spirit Rye.  Sagamore Spirit celebrates the Maryland tradition of blending Rye mashbills to create a sweeter, buttery truly one-of-a-kind Rye Whiskey.  The blends will vary, but everything Sagamore does is a blend of the below mashbills.  We think you'll be thrilled with the results.  As is sometimes the case, the team just couldn't narrow it down to a single barrel so we asked Sagamore if we could have 2.  The answer was YES.

Thanks to Dave Payne, who creates all our stickers.  A baseball fanatic, Dave has tapped into his childhood memories growing up in Maryland and has recreated the evening Baltimore Orioles hall of fame shortstop Cal Ripken Jr broke Lou Gehrig's record for most consecutive games played (2,131).  Enjoy "IRON MAN", and "THE STREAK - 2131".

Mashbill - Contract distilled by MGP through 2021

80% - High Rye – 95% rye, 5% malted barley

20% - Low Rye – 52% rye, 43% corn, 5% malted barley.

Barrel #124 - Age 7 years, Proof 110

• Nose:  Orange citrus zest, clover honey, bright fruit notes
• Taste: Vibrant dark fruit, bourbon-like, caramel & vanilla, not at all typical for rye with the fruit notes.
• Finish:  Medium-Long, with orange & honey, powder sugar, and jammy notes, and a hint of dusty Wild Turkey 101.

Barrel #155 - Age 7 years, Proof 110

• Nose:  Allspice, nutmeg, bread pudding, creme brulee
• Taste: Bountiful fall baking spices, brown sugar, brown butter, caramel corn.  A celebration of fall.
• Finish: Med-Long echoing the baking spices, buttery brown sugar, creamy vanilla.
