Walter Scott - Pinot Noir - Temperance Hill Vineyard - Eola-Amity Hills - Oregon

About This Item

Overview: The ‘Temperance Hill Vineyard’ is one of the great older sites in the Eola-Amity Hills Vineyard, as Walter Scott sources from a vineyard site set on volcanic soils. One whiff and the dusting of volcanic earth is quite apparent, with tart red fruits and citrus rind accents rounding out this awesome nose. The palate is very elegant, as this would pass for a top class Burgundy. Very pretty red fruits collide with minerals, wet stone and smoky flavors. The range here is seriously good. Gorgeous to savor now, this has plenty of years ahead of it.

Tasting notes:  Dried sage, porcini mushroom, rosemary blossom, tea rose and pine needle balanced with raspberry glaze, huckleberry pie, molasses, anise and clove. Pure finesse with elegant tannins and a complex finish.

Pairing: Chicken, Duck, Salmon

Points: 95 GC
