Cline - Ancient Vines Zinfandel - Contra Costa

Overview: The Ancient Vines Zinfandel draws primarily from a wide selection of our oldest, most historic and shyest-bearing Zinfandel blocks in Contra Costa County based around the town of Oakley. Here the soils are deep sand from the banks of the San Joquin and Sacramento River delta’s which have been depositing the sand from the Sierra Nevada mountain range for millennia. These ancient, dry-farmed vineyards have survived through phylloxera and prohibition and consistently produce fruit of stunning concentration. Early
bud break and low disease pressure coupled with impeccable farming and crop control means only the best fruit is picked each harvest.

Tasting Notes: Deep ruby red with aromas of strawberry, raspberry, five spice, and cedar. Medium bodied. On the palate, plum, raspberry, lilac, bramble, and strawberry. The finish is long and juicy.
