Maker - Zinfandel - J Dusi Wines

About This Item

Overview: We’re the ladies of Maker, here to serve up award-winning wine for discerning palates and the good of human kind.

We started Maker to offer premium wine sans the snobbery. To highlight interesting varietals crafted by award-winning small producers. To tell the story of the producer that hand crafted your wine. And to package up “wine for one” in earth-conscious cans. Because we believe high-end wine isn’t just for the wealthy, distribution shouldn’t just be for the big guys, and great stories—like great wines—are meant to be shared. - Sarah, Kendra, and Zoe

Paso Robles is Zin paradise, considered a near-perfect place to grow Zinfandel since the 19th century. The long growing season and extreme temperature swings make it ideal for dry-farmed grapes and full-bodied fruit.

Grapes from Dusi are synonymous with quality and care - their hand-harvested, sustainably farmed fruit has been featured in iconic bottles from Ridge to Turley. And now it's Janell's time to shine. This wine is a special combination of two iconic Dusi Zinfandel vineyards, bringing together the big and spicy elements of Paper Street Vineyard with the soft, juicy flavors of Dante Dusi Vineyard. The result is a show-stopper you truly have to taste to believe.

Tasting Notes: Dark berries, earth, and spice. A bold and ripe expression of fruit.

Pairing: BBQ. Throw some baby back ribs with a dry spice rub on the grill, or char some veggies — this Zin is big enough for red meat and soft enough for root vegetables. If red checker table cloths aren’t your thing, Janell recommends honoring the Dusi Italian roots and sipping the Zin alongside a delicious za or spaghetti, or creamy polenta and short rib.
