Made in El Venado, Durango, with maguey Cenizo. El Venado is a small village with a population of only 140 people, and the surrounding area is largely uninhabited. Don Jorge Garcia, a third-generation mezcalero, makes this mezcal. His agave is harvested from his property's hills. A clay pot still is used to distill this mezcal. All of these mezcals have a distinct cheesy scent and flavor.
