Taconic Bourbon Private Barrel Selection (The Missing Barrel) - Bourbon Pursuit & Keg N Bottle Private Barrel Pick 750 ml
Overview:
Well, the 2nd time is a charm. Somehow the barrels we selected back in September 2020 went missing and were deemed "Lost" by FedEx. This is round 2.
On Feb 8th, 2021 Anderson Todd who was on the original selection team, and his buddy Wes Howell saddled up with Kennya & Ryan to select a new set of barrels. 3 samples of Straight Bourbon and 3 samples of Bourbon finished in a secondary Maple barrel.
Barrel 557 (126 proof, May 2016) - Ryan started out loving the nose. Honeycomb cereal, cinnamon, honey graham cracker, honey vanilla, and a slight note of cacao powder/bitter chocolate.
Barrel 577 (125 proof, May 2016) - Sweet Nose, black pepper, an explosion of flavors with habanero pepper, vanilla custard, a touch of citrus.
Barrel 667 (122 proof, Jan 2016) - Funky on the nose, powdered brown sugar.
Mashbill 70% Corn, 25% Rye, 5% Malted Barley
