Unlike many rye whiskeys that include corn in the mash bill, Colonel E.H. Taylor Straight Rye features a unique grain recipe of rye and malted barley only, resulting in a pure, spicy, and uncompromisingly flavorful expression.

Aged in century-old warehouses at the historic Buffalo Trace Distillery and bottled in bond under the standards of the 1897 Bottled-in-Bond Act that Colonel Taylor helped establish, this rye whiskey delivers classic character with exceptional structure and balance. Unfiltered and bottled at 100 proof, it showcases the boldness of rye grain without sacrificing finesse — a rare and refined example of traditional American rye whiskey.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Complex and peppery with rich notes of spearmint, dark rye bread, and dried orchard fruit, layered with aromas of toasted oak, vanilla bean, and leather-bound books.

Palate: Spicy and dry yet well-rounded. Flavors of cracked black pepper, caramelized sugar, and baking spice (clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon) give way to subtle hints of dried fig, toasted almond, and molasses. The malted barley adds a soft, creamy texture that tempers the spice beautifully.

Finish: Long, warm, and satisfying with lingering notes of rye spice, charred oak, and a touch of dark chocolate.
