Mallea - Red Rhone Blend - Santa Barbara
Description
Overview: The imagery referenced on the labels is drawn directly from a unique phenomenon of the 19th and 20th centuries: young Basque shepherds - new to the American West - carved images and messages into the bark of Aspens. They tell the stories of the immigrant's experience, which is the foundation of American wine, past and present. What's more, these arborglyphs are a moving metaphor for winemaking: they are works of amateur historians - recording personal experience and communicating across time.
