Single Malt

Single malt whiskey is a spirit made exclusively from malted barley and distilled in a pot still at a single distillery. The whiskey is then aged in oak barrels for a minimum of three years, although many single malt whiskies are aged for much longer periods. Unlike blended whiskey, single malt whiskey is a product of a single distillery and is considered a purer expression of that distillery's unique style and character. As a result, it can be more expensive than blended whiskey, and is often prized by whiskey enthusiasts for its complexity and depth of flavor.
