Siglo - 'Saco' Tempranillo - Rioja
Description
Overview: Founded in 1890 and currently run by the family's 5th generation, a young and dynamic team that has turned Manzanos into one of the Rioja's largest growers with over 300 hectares of the own vineyards and 3 wineries, including Rioja's oldest winery in Haro as well as the oldest winery in neighboring Navarra. The Manzanos family works with local non-profit association Asprodema to produce Siglo's signature sac.
Tasting Notes: Intense cherry red color with a garnet rim. Medium high intensity wine that stands out for its red fruit and floral notes in perfect harmony with the elegant toasted and vanilla notes from its time in oak barrels. Fresh, round, elegant, and with ripe tannins and a long aftertaste.
Pairing: Cured meat sandwiches or pasta
Points: 92, James Suckling
