Ok , here goes my unbiased review of Jeff Krekeler 's High Roller whiskey. ( unbiased in the sense that although i AM a monster truck geek , I'm reviewing it as a whiskey/bourbon aficionado ! )
Upon initial opening and smell of the cork , I was met by a rich leather aroma that I had anticipated to be the flavor profile to expect from it. But as soon as it hit my taste buds I was very surprised by the sweet caramel with just a hint of smoked oak .
The initial "bite" was just as clean as its finish and its flavor profile is actually a stark contrast from the smell.
Paired very well with a Connecticut leafed stogie ( Drew Estate Blondie Belicoso) although I'd suspect an even better pairing with a dark and rich Maduro. ( perhaps a CAO 2x Maduro )
Quality way higher than its price and well worth the wait for the pre-order!
