Viña Cobos - Bramare Malbec - Valle de Uco
Description
Overview: Bramare, meaning "to yearn” in Italian. From the memoirs of Frances Mayes "Under the Tuscan Sun", the term "Bramare" captures the spirit in which Viña Cobos was founded. Bramare is the first step of Viña Cobos' deep immersion into the exploration and division of the best terroirs and micro-sites of Mendoza.
Located at an altitude between 3,114 and 4,855 feet, the vineyards grow on stony soils with a variable presence of limestone and very poor organic matter.
Hand harvested with shears, the clusters and berries are manually selected in the vineyard. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks, with 100% spontaneous malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged 18 months in French oak barrels, 20% new. Bottled unfied.
Tasting Notes: Deep purple color. Very complex character with aromas of red fruit and violets with hints of spices. On the palate, it has a very good structure, fresh acidity and fine grain tannins.
Pairing: Beef and venison
Points: 95, James Suckling
Format/ABV: 750 ml/14.8%
