Castello di Verduno - Basadone - Italy
Description
Overview: Giovanna and Marcella Bianco are the owners of the Castello di Verduno estate in Piedmont. Over several generations, their family has amassed an enviable holding of vineyards in Barolo and Barbaresco, through both inheritance and marriage. In addition, the sisters own and operate Ca' del Re, their agriturismo business. Giovanna helps at the estate and runs the restaurant with her husband, while also pursuing her other passion: DJ'ing. Marcella operates the vineyards, the winery and helps oversee the winemaking. Castello di Verduno farm their grapes organically, maintain immaculate vineyards, cellars and winemaking facilities, and use only indigenous yeasts for fermentation.
Tasting Notes: This is a lovely wine with flavors of flowers, herbs, and red fruits. Light in color and body with a silky smooth texture the Basadone displays incredible balance and freshness.
Pairing: Enjoy on its own or pair with grilled or roasted vegetables or white meats.
