About This Item

Overview:  When internationally recognized winemaker Paul Hobbs and 4th generation Cahors vintner Bertrand Gabriel Vigouroux decided to work together, they set out to offer a new interpretation of the Malbec of Cahors, melding modernity and tradition. This collaboration between the new and the old world became Crocus wines, a quest to redefine Malbec in its birthplace.

Tasting Notes:  Dark garnet color. Fresh aromas of violet, cherry blossom and wild flowers seamlessly blend with red and black fruit such as Burlat cherry and blackcurrant jam, finishing with a hint of spice. The palate is smooth, giving black cherry, fresh raspberry and ripe blueberry flavors, finishing with firm tannins and bright acidity.

Pairing:  Grilled Steak and Vegetable Kebabs, Grilled Pork Chops with Eggplant Caponata

Points:  90 Wine Enthusiast, 92 KE

Format / ABV: 750 ml / 14.5
