Inkblot - Cabernet Franc - Lodi
Description
Overview: The first Lodi Cabernet Franc wine ever produced by Michael David Winery, and one of the few produced from Lodi. This varietal originated from the Bordeaux and Loire Valley regions of France and has been grown with success in many other countries. The grapes for this wine come from a 9 acre vineyard located on the west side of Lodi, no more than a stone’s throw away from the winery. Ready to drink now or could be set down for a few years.
Tasting Notes: Like ink splattering across a page, our Inkblot Cabernet Franc overflows with concentration and complexity. Opening with decadent aromas of blackberry, sweet molasses and licorice, full bodied flavors of cherry preserves and walnut are layered with hints of sweet vanilla and black pepper. A lasting finish is framed with spice notes intermingling into dark berry flavors.
Pairing: Belted Galloway Bone-in-ribeye
