Jordan - Cabernet Sauvignon - Alexander Valley
Description
Overview: In a world where successful wineries and wine brands are increasingly owned by corporations, Jordan Winery is proud to be owned and operated by John Jordan, whose parents founded the winery in 1972.
Jordan wines are made in a European style that allows them to pair well with a broad range of foods. Our winemaking emphasizes the wine’s fruit and acidity rather than its alcohol and tannin. Acidity plays two roles central to food pairing: cleansing of the palate and providing balance. Achieving elegance and balance in the bottle drives all that we do in our vineyards and cellar so that every bottle of Jordan enhances the meal, not overwhelms it.
Tasting Notes: Intense aromas of ripe black cherry, graphite and blackberry interlace with a lovely violet floral note. The palate is inviting and well-balanced, exuding flavors of blueberries, cassis and boysenberry that are all beautifully interwoven with silky tannins from the French oak barrels. The dark fruit flavors and delicate acidity evolve beautifully in the glass and linger on the palate.
Pairing: This wine’s elegance, acidity and spice notes complement grilled or roasted dishes, such as coq au vin, lamb ragu or roasted salmon with miso.
