Les Costieres de Pomerols - Picpoul de Pinet - HB - Languedoc
Description
Overview: Founded in 1932, this Cave Coopérative is located in the top commune of Pomérols, between the garrigue of Pezenas and the sea dominated by the Mont St Clair in Sete. The members control 1,200 hectares (2,964 acres) of vineyard land, of which 330 hectares (815 acres) is Picpoul de Pinet. The Pomerols vineyards stretch over vast sun_x0002_drenched terraces of clay/calcareous soils. They produce Piquepoul, Chardonnay, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Terret, Merlot, Cabernet, Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault and Carignan.
Tasting Notes: The color is a superb pale yellow with bright hues. The nose is elegant, with aromas of fresh fruit and citrus fruit especially grapefruit. Well_x0002_balanced with typical zesty acidity. Known as the ‘Muscadet of the South’, Picpoul is perfect with oysters and fresh seafood. A pure expression of the grape varietal, the wine shows how good Picpoul can be when grown on its favorite terroir!
