Millesimato - Cuvage Rose Brut - Nebbiolo D'Alba
Description
Overview: Nebbiolo d'Alba is a DOC encompassing a large area around the town of Alba, situated in the region of Piedmont in north-west Italy. Granted in 1970, the classification references the red grape Nebbiolo from which they are made, and the area where they are produced.
Here the soils are sandier than at the vineyards of neighbors Barbaresco and Barolo. This results in wines that are softer, less intense and more approchable at an earlier age.
The wines made under this DOC label must be made from pure Nebbiolo, and the majority of wines are still and red. Additionally, this DOC's rules allows a dolce and spumante version. Both are rarely made.
Tasting Notes: Made with 100% Nebbiolo, this offers delicate aromas of red berries, crushed botanical herbs and brioche. Savory and elegant, the tangy palate delivers juicy strawberry, crushed raspberry and orange zest alongside a refined perlage and bright acidity. It closes on a note of fennel seed.
Pairing: Rich fish, shellfish, mild and soft cheeses.
