Old Scout Single Barrel Bourbon (FIELD OF FLOWERS - Barrel #36436) - Bourbon Pursuit & Keg N Bottle Barrel Pick 750 ml
Description
OVERVIEW:
Kenny and Ryan got a call and were offered the opportunity to select a barrel of Old Scout. Never being ones to pass up an opportunity, they got hold of a set of 4 samples and got to work. In true Kenny/Ryan fashion, they weren't able to completely align on a winner and so we have 2 barrels. Barrel 36436 was Kenny's favorite, and 36730 was Ryan's favorite.
Kenny's family dog of 13 years recently passed away, and we felt inspired by his memory for our sticker theme (Thank you Dave Payne for your incredible artwork). Rest in Peace Walter. Please enjoy "FIELD OF FLOWERS", and "OVER THE RAINBOW".
DETAILS:
Barrel #36436, 6 years old, Proof 116.6, 58.8% ABV, distilled in IN 36% Rye MGP Recipe. Sticker Theme "FIELD OF FLOWERS" - Kenny's Favorite Barrel.
TASTING NOTES: by Brian Beyke
-
Nose: An orchard of apples with salted toffee and sweet maltiness and French vanilla softly dance on the nose. Don’t forget a sprinkling of coffee cake, honey, and grape juice.
-
Palate: The palate is led by rich toasted oak, crisp apple cider, wine-soaked grapes, date, and deep resonate brown sugar. It tingles in all the right ways, and hard to call it spicy because every little sip extracts more and more fruit concentration.
- Finish: The finish melts away on the palate, revisiting that beautiful crisp apple note that permeates the room from the glass as it trails oh, so long and dry across the tongue.
