Paitin - Strada - Nebbiolo Langhe DOC

Description

Overview: 'Strada' pays homage to the ancient Strada family who was held in great regard within the Serraboella region. This bottling is of 100% Nebbiolo coming from the lower elevation vineyards in Serraboella, which are known for cooler temperatures and sandier limestone soils. The vines are planted to a south-western exposure, farmed organically, and date back to 1980. After harvested, the grapes are pressed and destemmed before undergoing fermentation and maceration between 3-6 weeks in stainless steel. The wine is then transferred into Slavonian oak roughly 15 years old and ages between 6-12 months. Production is approximately 20,000 bottles / year. 

Tasting Notes: Bright, elegant ruby red. The nose shows notes of ripe raspberry and rose hip, with gentle spice in the background. On the palate; juicy and bright, fans out with firm tannins, slightly saline, powerful finish.
