Each year Bernard Walsh selects a handful of exceptional casks to make this the benchmark for Super Premium Cask Strength Irish Whiskey. It is available in strictly limited quantities with just 3,510 bottles produced in 2017.
Each bottle is uniquely numbered and signed. It is reserved for the appreciation of the most discerning judges of Whiskey. The Irishman Rare Cask Strength was a Gold Medal winner in “The Premium Irish Whiskey Category” at The Whiskey Masters. It was also rated a magnificent 94.5 points in Jim Murray’s Whiskey Bible 2010: “Quite exceptional”.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: A wonderful combination of soft bourbon notes and a light malty subplot with a light sprinkling of ginger.
Palate: Brilliant! Softly oiled, very lightly malted. The arrival of the drier oak offers a perfect bitter sweet foil.
Finish: Long, chocolate, rich and sophisticatedly spiced.
